ISC 2010 Post-Conference Symposium: Carotid Endarterectomy versus Carotid Artery Stenting: A Fresh Analysis of the Data
Join us for an exciting post-conference symposium that will analyze newly breaking data on the merits of carotid endarterectomy and carotid artery stenting. The results of one of the largest government-sponsored clinical trials (CREST*) comparing the two procedures will be discussed and assessed. This special post-conference symposium will evaluate its results in context with other recent trials and focus on how the results of CREST and similar trials should affect clinical practice, particularly as they relate to patient subgroups.
The Carotid Revascularization Endarterectomy versus Stenting Trial (CREST) is a prospective, randomized, multicenter clinical trial of CEA versus CAS as prevention for stroke in patients with symptomatic or asymptomatic carotid stenosis.
